Our Vacation at Lake Michigan

For the first week of our vacation, we went to Grand Haven, Michigan with Gramma & Grampa; Aunt Jacey & Uncle Paul; and Aunt Lisa, Uncle Allan and Ali. We stayed at a rental house which was right in between the beach of Lake Michigan and the marina where Aunt Jacey and Uncle Paul have their boat docked. It was so great because we easily split our time between the house, the beach, the pool at the marina and the boat. And in between all of that we took a couple of day trips. We had so much fun!

Cory had reminded me that we had taken a picture of the girls on the beach the last time we were in Michigan. So I tried to take the same picture 4 years later. It's amazing how much they have changed!

It works better in the water!

We spent one afternoon at Craig's Cruisers. It was a huge indoor arcade with every game imaginable and even some little rides and bumper cars. The girls were in their glory, although Avery blew through her credits so fast that she had to steal Gramma's!

Gramma and Avery played Deal or No Deal. I think Avery picked No Deal EVERY time, but she had fun. Between that and playing Family Feud on Aunt Lisa's phone every night before bed, Avery got home hooked on game shows.
She is so competitive!!

Avery was not too excited about this ride (I think because it was taking away from her game time) but she had fun anyway!

The girls begged Aunt Jacey to take them out on the dinghy. And Aunt Jacey was more than happy to do so....until she found out that the motor wasn't working. Paddle Boating anyone?

One day, we went to Michigan Adventures, which is an amusement park/ water park. We all had a blast on the rides, on the water slides and playing games!

Daddy & Sierra had fun too

Sierra with Gramma & Grampa at the bottom of one of the water slides that went right into the lazy river. It was perfect!

Avery really liked catching some waves in the wave pool!
One of our boat rides, took us to a restaurant called Dockers for lunch. Uncle Paul  just parked the boat at the dock and we walked in to eat. It was so cool!
Grampa and Aunt Lisa got some fancy Bloody Mary's

As we went through the canals, Uncle Paul had to drive really slow, so we were able to sit on the front of the boat with the best view!

Back by the house, the girls had fun playing in the sand dunes

Aunt Lisa and Uncle Allan brought the girls some fun presents. They got to open one each day. This day it was silly string!!! They had so much fun! And so did Gramma!

We made a new friend at the beach. This puppy was so adorable!

Since the sun doesn't set until between 9:30 and 10:00, we had to stay up late to see it, but it was worth it!

Aunt Lisa and Uncle Allan also brought these Sky Lanterns. They're kind of like  mini hot air balloons. You just light them and they float up into the air and eventually they just disintegrate. It was really neat!

Aunt Jacey & Uncle Paul got the girls these cute hats. Don't they look so cool!
