Some Fun Days

We didn't do anything too exciting this week. But, we are looking forward to Halloween and our visit from Gramma, Grampa, Great Gramma, and Great Grampa this week! Mommy did go a little camera crazy this week. So, here are some of the pictures that she took. Enjoy and Happy Halloween!

A Fun Week in Massachusetts

On Thursday, Avery had some firemen come to her school to talk to the kids and show them the fire truck. I thought Avery would be so excited about it so I had been making a big deal about it all week. Well, that morning she was so upset and did not want to got school, which is very unusual. I finally figured out that it was because she was nervous about the firemen. Once we got to school, we let her teachers know that she was nervous and they said they would take good care of her. Of course, whenever I picked her up, her teachers said that she talked more that day than she had for the entire school year. She was so impressed with the fire truck and how big it was. She couldn't believe that it was actually bigger than Mommy's car and Daddy's Toyota. She had such a great day. She was very glad that she didn't stay home.

Then Friday morning we woke up with some snow on the ground. Avery was so excited. She wanted to go outside at 6:00 in the morning. Well it was 9:00 by the time we got out there so most of the snow was gone but Avery didn't care as long as she got to eat some of what was left. She loves to eat snow.

Saturday morning the girls had a fun time with Daddy playing outside. We had bought a big spider decoration that you fill with leaves. So they were all busy filling it up. Avery was a big help and Sierra so wants to be a big help but she would carry over one or two leaves at a time. She is too cute!

Both of the girls have seemed to change a lot recently. Avery seems to want to be more grown up. Whenever Cory and I are having a conversation she will repeat what we say as if she is part of the conversation and then whenever we laugh at something she is hysterical even if she has no idea what we are talking about.

And Sierra is starting to get to the independent stage. If I try to turn the pages of a book as I'm reading to her, she pushes my hand away. And she has been getting up on Avery's stool in the bathroom lately. So we brought in her own stool and now she brushes her teeth at least 5 times a day just so she can stand on the stool. But she still doesn't talk yet. She just babbles a lot. We actually had someone from the Early Intervention office come out last week. They will be back in 2 weeks to test her to see if anything is wrong. But her doctor is not too concerned he just thinks she is a late talker. We're hoping it is just part of the "second child syndrome" but we will find out for sure soon.

Alex & Stacy's Birthday Party

We had a great time last weekend down in New Jersey for Alex and Stacy's Fourth Birthday! The girls had so much fun playing with Alex and Stacy, especially since they got guinea pigs for their birthday (Grandparents, please don't get any ideas). The kids loved playing with the animals, although I don't think the feeling was mutual. The older kids were a little rough with them, but Sierra was great. She was so gentle with them. She just loved to pet them and then she would start giggling. I think she might even be more of an animal lover than Avery.

Then for Alex and Stacy's party, we went on a hayride where the kids got to pick pumpkins and gourds. They also had some goats which Sierra loved feeding until she got nipped on the hand, poor thing. And Avery loved the soybean maze, kind of like a corn maze but only about knee high so we didn't lose any kids. It was a great party!

Then when we got back home to Massachusetts, the first thing we noticed was how many more leaves there were on the ground. So, of course we had to make a bigger and better leaf pile. It was so much fun! Nana and Grandpa came back to our house too after having a great time on their cruise so we got to play with them for a few more days before they had to go back home.

Falling for Fall

Avery & Sierra having a Lemonade Party

Do you know what the spanish word for fall is?...... Autumn. At least that's what Avery thinks and as much as I try to explain it to her, she insists that she is right. Anyway, here are some pictures from early last week of the girls playing outside. Some of the leaves are just starting to fall off of the trees so, of course, we had to make the first of many leaf piles to play and jump in. The girls had a blast! It was such a beautiful day, none of us wanted to go in when it was lunchtime.
Wheeeeee!

Then Nana and Grandpa came into town and visited us before they went on a cruise. We had lots of fun with them before they left. Avery was so excited to show off her school and sports class. On Thursday, we went to the Children's Museum in Boston. The girls had so much fun exploring, climbing, dancing, and playing with everything.
