Our Trip to California

We had a great trip to California!! We got to Bobby and Ami's Saturday afternoon along with Vanessa, Kailey, and Ryan from Phoenix, and Joey, Jenna, Alex & Stacy from New Jersey. The kids all got reaquainted quickly. And we all had a great time at Luke's Baptism on Sunday. He is just the happiest baby ever!

On Monday, we all went to the San Diego Wild Animal Kingdom. The kids had so much fun checking out all of the animals and running around together. They even had a petting zoo area where the girls got to pet and feed some deer. They loved it! We also got to see the new baby elephant that had just been born. He was so cute! And Cory and Avery got to feed some larakeets. Somewhere there's a picture of Cory with four larakeets sitting on his head and shoulders. I'll have to get a hold of that one!

Taking a Ride on The Merry Go Round

We had a more relaxing day on Tuesday. We went to Lake Skinner where the kids got to play around at the playground and walk along the lakeside. They had fun pretending to fish with sticks and sinking Uncle Bobby's handmade miniature raft.

Wednesday was our big day at Disneyland. We all had such a great time!! We got to meet Goofy and Mickey Mouse, which was so cool. And, of course, we all had a blast on all of the rides. Avery's favorite rides were the two roller coasters she went on, including The Matterhorn. Sierra's favorite ride was definitely It's a Small World. She was just in awe of all of the flowers, balloons, and"peoples". The girls also both loved exploring the pirate island, where they got to crawl through caves and walk across rickety bridges. We ended the day with watching the parade down Main Street which I thought was very cool. I don't think the girls appreciated it as much but only because of pure exhaustion. They did perk up a little to hit the gift shop before we left to get some cool souvenirs. What a great day!

After Disneyland, we went to Nana and Grandpa's for a little R & R. Avery had fun swimming and playing in the pool. Then we made our way back to Temecula to get ready to head home. The whole week was so much fun and it was so nice to spend some time with our family. We are so very lucky!

Our Latest Pictures

Here are some pictures I have taken from the past week. We had lots of fun playing outside and, of course, doing our new Saturday morning ritual at the Soccer Fields. Sierra also had her last meeting with Beth last Friday. She is doing so well with her speech. She actually tested above her age in every category, which means that she progressed by a year in the past 6 months with her speech! Now she is like a little parrot, she repeats everything that we say! Enjoy the pictures.

Look, I caught it!

Avery's Soccer Debut

Avery started playing soccer two weeks ago. She was so excited to play. For the entire week before her first day, she asked everyday, "How many days until my soccer game?" We went out and bought her a new ball, shin guards and her little cleats (they are the cutest things I've ever seen). So by the time Saturday finally rolled around she and Coach Cory were ready! Unfortunately, the first day was cold and rainy, but Avery got right out on the field and ran around. She had a little trouble keeping up with the game. All of the other kids are older than she is and most of them have played before. But, of course, that didn't stop her. And then the second week went much better. It was beautiful out and the kids were not as timid. And Avery once again had a great time!

Easter

Here are some of the pictures from Easter weekend. We had such a great visit with Gramma and Grampa. The first pictures are from Coco Key, an indoor water park that we went to. We all had so much fun. The girls had fun swimming, splashing, sliding and swimming in the lazy river. It was a blast!

Avery wanted to try this....it didn't go so well, but I got a good picture before she was dumped in the water

The rest of the weekend was all about playing, relaxing, and Easter Egg Hunts (we did 3 of them!) The first egg hunt was at a local nursery with some friends of ours. Then we came back to our house and did another egg hunt with our friends again. The third was with Gramma and Grampa in the yard on Easter Sunday. Avery and Sierra were pros by the end of the weekend. For the next week, whenever Sierra found an egg laying around she would shake it hoping there were jelly beans or chocolate eggs inside.
Look I found an egg!

No one will notice if I just sneak this into my basket.
