Nana & Grandpa's Visit

Nana and Grandpa kept us very busy while they were here, which always makes for a good start to our summer vacation!
Nana & Grandpa took the girls bowling and Sierra won these cool sunglasses!

We wanted to have a beach day so went to The Chesapeake Bay Beach. There weren't any waves but it was a great day!

We spent a day at Mount Vernon, where we learned a lot about George Washington and had a fun day running around his property.

We also spent a day at another small water park in the area. The girls had a blast going down all of the different water slides and getting water dumped on them from the big bucket (they could've done that all day!)

We also took a trip up to New Jersey to Aunt Kathy and Uncle Greg's house. We had a fun day at the Jersey Shore with Aunt Marian, Aunt Nancy and their families. We also had a nice breakfast out with lots more family: Uncle Michael and his family, Uncle Timmy, and even Uncle Danny and his family were in town from Texas! It was a great trip!

Sierra's 6th Birthday

Sierra had a great birthday! Of course, she wanted a pool party, so we had it at Ida Lee Park which has a cool little water park. It was a beautiful day, although it could've been about 5-10 degrees warmer, but, as you can see, the kids didn't mind!

June 2014

The beginning of June was lots of fun! The girls both had field day and end of the school year parties. We went to Pennsylvania for Ali and Joe's Wedding. And Nana and Grandpa came to visit!

Sierra at Field Day. Here she is trying to ride a scooter while the gym teacher sprays her with water!

This game was super cute! She had to fill a flower pot with water and walk across to another bucket while the water dripped out from the drain holes! So fun!

And they had lots of fun with the parachute! That's her to the right of the gym teacher.

Then, we went to Carlisle,  Pennsylvania for Ali and Joe's Wedding. The whole weekend was beautiful from start to finish. We had so much fun spending time with family, making new friends, meeting the newest member of the Saylor Family, and celebrating Ali and Joe's wedding day!

Just thought this was a really cool picture.

Avery had her field day during the last week of school. They kept me pretty busy so I didn't get many pictures, but here she is having some fun with the parachute.

Nana and Grandpa arrived just in time to go to Avery's end of the season softball party.

Sierra's Girl Scout troop had their end of the year party at the Ice Skating Rink. She was so excited since she had just taken lessons there over the winter, she had a great time!

Over Memorial Day Weekend, Uncle Joey, Aunt Jenna, Alex, and Stacy came to visit to spend some time in D.C.

We went to The Spy Museum which was very cool! All of the kids got a chance to be like James Bond. They had to hang on to this bar while wind was blowing on them. here's Avery giving it a try.

And Sierra's turn

They got a feel for their possible future presidency

Sierra might need to grow a few more inches first

This was the first time that we had been to D.C. since they finished working on the Washington Monument. With all of the scaffolding down, Avery was so excited that she could touch the Monument!

As always, we had to get a picture in front of the White House

We also spent some time at the Air and Space Museum. here's some pictures of the kids with a helicopter and the Space shuttle.

Towards the end of the school year, the kindergarten put on an awesome Hoe-down performance. it was so cute and Sierra did such a great job! Here are some of the pictures but they don't do it justice.
Sierra had a speaking part and she did great!
