Getting Settled in Virginia

We made it to Virginia after a stopover in NJ to stay at Alex & Stacy's house where we got to see them and Kailey, Ryan and Brady. The first night in Virginia we stayed in a hotel because our stuff wasn't there yet. The next day, Gramma and Grampa arrived from Pennsylvania to help out, but we still didn't have our stuff so we all slept on air mattresses. Then finally our stuff arrived. And we have been working very hard since then trying to figure out where to put it all! In between, we have been busy getting ready for school, having fun at the pool and trying to get settled!

We went to an open house at the girls' new school, Belmont Station Elementary School. They were very excited to see it and meet their new teachers, who were all very nice, and some of the kids that would be in their class.

Sierra got to take a practice bus ride. She was so excited!

We were all very excited to find out that we have a beautiful mall very close to us. It is so big, it even has a merry-go-round!

Isn't it amazing what you find when you have to unpack everything you own! I have no idea where this outfit came from, but Avery loved it!
It has been pretty hot here in Virginia, so the girls spent a lot of time at the pool in our development.

Then, finally, the big day arrived...the first day of school. They were both a little nervous but they both did great! And at the end of the day they were both so excited because they had a great first day!!

The girls have become friends with a little girl, Bella in our neighborhood so they have been playing with her a lot this week. She has a big dog, Griffin, and a swing set in her yard, so they love her! So after a great week of school and playing with a new friend, they are starting to get used to it here.

And this weekend was the start of soccer. So Saturday morning, we were at the soccer fields all morning. They had so much fun and they did great!

I think we still need a little more time before the girls really feel like this is home, but we are off to a good start!

Our Last Days in Massachusetts

Our last week in Massachusetts was filled with lots of fun with our friends! We wanted to get a few more things in before we moved to Virginia and our friends were trying to have some fun before they had to go back to school, so it worked out great! First, we went to Breezy Waterslide Park. We had lots of fun on the waterslides, swimming in the lake, playing in the sand, and playing with our friends.
Our whole group: the Cashman's, the Soter's, the Tutlis' and us

Next, we took a trip to Davis' Farmland with Lauren and her mom. As usual, we had fun petting & feeding the animals, playing in the water park and playing in the many play areas.
Here we are brushing some calves

Our neighbors had a Going Away party for us. It was so great to see everyone one last time and the kids had so much fun! Here's a picture of all of the kids!

And Gracie stayed over for one last sleepover
We were able to make it the library one more time for the end of the summer Ice Cream Party & Magic Show. It was a great time and the show was so funny!
Enjoying our ice cream!

We had a gift certificate for a fancy restaurant in Connecticut that we hadn't used yet. So, on our anniversary we went out for a nice dinner!

On our very last night in Massachusetts, we went on the last nightly bike ride in the neighborhood. Then we went home and went for a night swim with some friends.  It was very cool! Even though we were having fun, Avery was very emotional on the last night. She was trying to have fun  but she just couldn't stop the tears. Poor little thing!

In the morning, we went around the house to take some last pictures.
