One Last Ski Trip

 We ended the ski season with a bang up in Vermont! Cory got invited by a friend at work to a private ski resort at Haystack Mountain, near Mount Snow in Vermont. It is a newly reopened ski resort so they are still in the building phase, but the skiing was awesome! The conditions were great. There was a nice layer of fresh powder for us that they were constantly grooming. And the best part, because it's a private club, there aren't a whole lot of people. There were no lift lines and most of the time we were skiing down the mountain by ourselves!

Here are the girls getting ready for their ski lessons. They had full day lessons on Saturday and a half day on Sunday. They did great and had a blast (as did Cory & I skiing by ourselves for a while)! Sierra was on the bunny hill working on stopping and turning. And Avery was all over the mountain. She even skied down the hardest black diamond run. She and her instructor wound up on it by mistake but she did awesome on it!

 On the Bunny Hill, where Sierra was, there wasn't a magic carpet to get up the hill, so they got to ride up on a snowmobile every time. She loved it!!

We even got to take a ride in the grooming machine. It took us all the way up to the summit where we had a nice lunch. Then, Sierra and I rode it back down while Cory & Avery skied all the way down!

Getting Ready for Spring!

Last week, we got  what we are hoping was our last snow storm of the season. We had some fun playing in the snow. Then the following day, we switched gears and decorated for Easter!

Happy 40th Birthday, Cory!!

We started Cory's Birthday celebration at Mexicali Grill (our favorite birthday place) for some yummy food and a little "Feliz Cumpleanos!"

 

 

 Then we went back home for some banana birthday cake (Cory's favorite...and now Avery & Sierra's favorite too!)

 

 

 

After going back and forth, we finally decided to have a birthday party at our house with some of our friends and neighbors. Unfortunately, the day before the party we had to contend with 21" of snow!

The day of the party was beautiful, sunny and 50 degrees. So even with nearly 2 feet of snow, the party was a success and everyone had a great time... including the birthday boy! Here he is singing "Happy Birthday" to himself!!
